Hi Bob, and thanks for your interest. This is the Old World robin found in Britain and most of the rest of Europe (those in Britain are particularly tame). The American robin was named by early settlers for its similarity to the European bird: this saved them having to think up a new name for it ;-)

Oh, this is a lovely Robin. He does look friendly and interested in all that's going on. Super clarity and well composed. Nice details of this sweetie - I love his lil feet and his tiny feathers fluffing out. He looks super sharp on that slanted branch. His coloring is beautiful and I keep thinking I can reach out and touch him. Excellent work here Simon :))
