Although he's been ringed for tracking purposes, this is a "wild" robin, but so friendly that I was able to get right up close while photographing him. I was amazed by the amount of detail in the feathers in my final shot - have a look at him full-screen and you'll see what I mean :-) Slimbridge, 26th January '05.

What a super shot of that cute Robin!! We have a different variety of Robin here in South Africa called the Cape Robin but they are also very sociable and friendly:-) I shall try and get a photo sometime but I doubt I will be able to get such an excellent capture as yours. Well Done!!

This is an amazing photo and as you said once on the desktop in large picture it looks as though the little bird is really right there to be touched. I will be checking often for more of your great shots. Thank you

this little fellow is absolutely adorable.. i adore robin images from this site.. the first i had seen here was your image.. it really made me happy :) and i spotted this one today, wheeee :) one more! i have all the praise for this little birds, they look so innocent and beautiful..who could not resist them? :)
nice close up, too.. i have noticed all the details, amazing! every single feather is visible! one must have a good camera and knowledge combined with experience to use it ;) you certainly had done your best creating this one.. it deserves high marks.. and favourites, of course! i like this one a lot :)

Is this the best you could do in clarity? I mean just because I can see EVERY feather and EVERY mite on his feathers doesn't mean that it passes inspection. What with excellent work like this, why can't I see UNDER the feathers? Might as well. Obviously you have the camera and knowhow. And his eye, so what that I can look right into it. I'm surprized I'm unable to examine his retina what with your skill. Sheesh!
