my favorite duck, when they come down the creek, you can hear them and if you look real fast, you might see him...my brother loved them so, he got a license to raise them for a while...

i find the reflections distracting, and the reds are just a bit oversaturated. other than that, really amazing duck you got there

The rich, bold and striking colors of the Wood Duck are true. This is a beautiful one. Yes, the reflections are a bit dizzying but that's nature's abstract. Has my vote and is saved. Thanks Simon.

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for. Georgia O'Keeffe

Hahaha! I laughed out loud at the title. Great shot, too. :)

I'm really into goth rock and new wave. My favorite band is The Birthday Massacre. The guy in my avatar is, in fact, a guy. His name is Mana from the band Malice Mizer.

The reflections and distortion in the water make the perfect backdrop for his bold colors. good job

This is a great use of color, textures, and patterns. Also the wood duck is a really good subject.

Excellent to get so close. I like the way the duck's "wake" moves the reflections of the branches around on the water. The male woodies just look unreal; we have them here in Ohio in milder winters and they do nest here, but they seem to have moved a bit south this year. So what's a woodie doing in the UK???

Thanks both :-) We do see wood duck that have escaped from captivity in the wild sometimes, but this one was at Slimbridge, a Wildfowl and Wetland Trust reserve which provides a haven for wild and migrant birds and also has a captive breeding program, particularly for rare and endangered species.

Aww not fair, our ducks don’t have such pretty colours.
It’s a fabulous shot Simon. The clear reflection is a nice bonus.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross
