Another thing I like about this time of year, besides the fall color, cooler temperatures, and fewer bugs, is that the sun rises later in the morning. I don't need to get out of bed so early to catch the good light.
A nicely balanced/composed image - and of course the colours are splendid. I like the inclusion of the closer darker tree branches - it adds perspective.

Steve - The remaining mist mutes the details slightly and allows the colors, deservedly, to be the star of the show. The balance of the composition is quite interesting, as it does not follow the rule of thirds with sky and ground, but does with the grass field in the foreground and the large branch above.
