Thank you, my friends, for your astute and very kind suggestions on Stones. I went back to the bin to see what else I had in there and found this one.

Hi Steve. I really like "Stones - Reprise" and for reasons differing from "Stones." To me, they are essentially two different moods, with two different end effects, for me, the viewer.

I usually refrain from suggesting cropping and composition ideas to other artists. I prefer to see in the piece what the artist wished for me to gather from his/her work. "Stones" meant something special to you and I believe it has a soul unlike "Reprise." It has your soul.

"Reprise" is special all by itself and is not in a competition with "Stones." Your work on both pictures is extraordinary.

They are clearly two very different shots. In the first the stones are the subject and they dominate the image. In this one they are an important element adding excellent additional structure to a standard horizon sunset water reflection structure. The colour tones are quite different too. Gotta say, that's one superior quality *bin* you have there mate. I like the feel of space in this, obviously the colours are delicious and the way the bank of blue clouds and the bank of gold clouds are counter-angled and with their reflections create a dynamic "bracketing" of the land/horizon line is very cool indeed. Top shot Steve.

Steve - I see the stones in this photo differently but virtue of the previous post. WIthout it, this simply would be a beautiful sunset photo. However, the stones now have a story and are an important part of this scene as a result. They catch the eye and lead it toward to reflection then the setting sun. Superb. Thad

It's a perfect mixture of the two photos. The stones in this photo still take the spotlight of photo. And the beautiful sunset adds the color that is needed to show off the stone pathway. Really like this shot better. Wonderful job.

Your first picture was good, but this one is much better. But it all depends on, what you want to communicate, with your images to the viewer. I like the composition, light and reflections in the water. Very well done Steve.
