Oh do I miss that kind of scene now that I live in the Southeast.. yes, there is a perfect muffled silence right after a snowfall like this. Nice job of showing this and the tree composition is perfect.

Bob nailed it-the silence, you can hear it. As a teenager, I remember riding my horse in the woods on snowy days like this and the silence was simply golden! KEEP-PAH!

Steve, I've seen loads of hoar frost photos, and taken a bunch myself, but this one is startlingly stunning. Light without being washed, very well-defined in focus, and with an elegantly tapering diagonal to the content. Into my desktop pictures file for sure as well as my favorites file. Did this one make it into the "White on White" contest? If not, it should have... you'd have snagged first place, I believe. Thanks for providing it for our enjoyment.
