I've driven over this many times, and sailed under it last summer. It's even more impressive close-up! For those who don't know, this is located where Tampa Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico, in Florida, USA. About 40 years ago, a runaway barge or ship smashed the previous bridge, which was a drawbridge. This was built to replace that, and is high enough for large ships to pass beneath it without stopping vehicle traffic on Interstate 275. The stub ends of the old bridge remain, as public fishing piers, and are much used.
