These were just mini blooms, I thought first they were tulips, but they closed up tight at night. Don't remember tulips doing that so don't know just what they are other than that they are beautiful little blooms when open.
Carol, a complicating factor for identification, is that the surrounding foliage, to the right and above the flowers, doesn't belong to the flowers. The flowers are probably still mini tulips (Tulipa linifolia). A fine capture however with a perfect lighting!

They are not a familiar bloom to me but I do know that I like them. They are quite elegant looking and they easily get my attention. Thanks for sharing them, Carol.
So it looks like your flowers have been identified as mini tulips - they are very unique - love that bold red color - Nice Find and Capture Carol!!!!!!!!!!!
