Have you ever looked at a photo or piece of art and say I like it, but.. I can't quite put a finger on it. I really like the motion, the action capture is great, but something seems missing that I can't quite put a finger on. I'm thinking that the water looks too green or that the colors are a bit lacking, but that's all that I can pinpoint. Still, I do like it. I'm not sure if these comments make it worse or not, wish I could be more specific. *(edited add-in) It was bugging me so I downloaded this just to see if changing the colors made a difference. I tried saturating the Cyan only and IMO it made this a nicer wallpaper. This is only my opinion, but comparing to your previous works, this is the only one with the less brilliant colors. I love these photos of yours, they all make me feel the waves and wind.
A couple of things. Firstly I put the wrong title on this. It was in fact shot at the Australian Offshore Keelboat Championships (not the B14s)
The second is, Talin, that you have picked up on something real. The colours were muted that day. Firstly because on any day when you shoot into the sun the bright reflections mean that any colour is either in shadow or bleached out. The second is that this was in the midst of huge bushfires and there was a pall of smoke over everything. That had the effect of muting all the colour too. But it was real. That's the way it looked.
