8/10: good composition. i like nature shots a little better than action shots, but this is good.

Every vote is accompanied by an explanation of how I voted, and why. This is in order to solve the problem of comments being TOO nice and not enough constructive criticism.

Another excellent shot, taking us right into the thick of things, where the action is. A great capture, Steb :-)

I'm not a sailing buff but when I first saw this image on caedes, back in 2006, I was taken with all the action within. The wind, the waves, the lines, the men, etc., etc. Everything in this photo has so much energy. Something about the strong colors and contrasts gave my brain a little utch, however, so I downloaded it and ran it through it's paces in Photoshop, ending with a watercolor filter. The result looks like a Leroy Neiman painting, the guy who did all those sports images, and resides in a screen saver I made for myself whose images all contain water in some form. Your photo stands alone as a great piece but the copy I adjusted has a very individual character. If you'd ever like to take a gander at it let me know. Thanks for the submission and opportunity.

Perfect angle. There's so much going on and at the same time there's an overall sense of serenity. Marvelous!
