I heard that there was going to be a big electromagnetic storm caused by a solar prominence, so found the darkest south facing beach I could find just after midnight on Weds morning (10th Nov). This is what the camera saw. I say that because I have very poor colour vison at night so I saw it in black and white. The shot made the front page of our broadsheet newspaper - The Age - 6 out of 8 columns!

Very nice, I really like the aurora with the stars as the backdrop. Can you normally see stars like that in Australia? Great Pic! =)

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best image of its type I have ever seen. The colors are simply stunning! Between you and Trisbert, the Aussies are doing pretty well on Caedes tonight!

Wow! I was so upset when I missed it, I wasn't aware until the second night when we had cloud cover in Tassie. Congratualtions for capturing such a fantastic image of a wonderful event.

We get stuff LIKE this in Alberta alot, but never quite like... this. Ours were always greens and blues and much thinner, wavier bands high in the sky. I like ours better. ;) But this is by far the BEST picture of any of the Aurora's I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing. 10/10 and in my favs.

Wow, I have only seen very feint white Auroras here in Illinois two times... I know they are gorgeous but I never knew they were like that.

Nice shot. I'm sorry you can't see them very well with your eyes.
