The Lompoc Valley is famous for flower fields! These are stock flowers shot early evening as the coastal marine layer started to roll in.

Bravo!!!!!!!! This is one fantastic photo! Such colours! OH my goodness! I cant stop looking at it....The clouds hugging those hills and then the radiance of the wonderful pinkish purple in front..wow...I wonder what kind of flowers they are. But I know ONE thing..and that is that you took a most magnificient shot here....One of the best I've seen on here in a long time....Thank you so much...I will be putting it on my desktop very soon...and Ive saved it...Gosh I even hope to do a canvas painting of it sometime soon.What do you mean they are stock flowers?.Verena

The horizontal striping and bands of color are a treat but I think it's the lit foreground and dark horizon that give this a surreal painted look. I'm sure it smelled wonderful as well. Lovely landscape
