Nice image, though a little cluttered for my personal taste. I think it would be a stronger image w/o the pond, as I find that the reflection detracts from your main focus, the tracks. It might not be so noticable if your image was in color, but that reflection, in B & W, seems to overwhelm the shot.

this sort of thing always catches my attention when i see it.. where i used to live i would often find old railroad tracks that disappear into thick brush and i'd get this sort of 'distressed' feeling, wondering what used to be.. i almost feel bad for the old tracks..
This image reminds me of an old road through the swamp in south Louisiana just outside New Orleans. The road was superceded thirty years ago by a highway, then by the interstate, yet the original track is still faintly visible in the swamp, the many bridges decaying and falling. I've often wondered how to shoot them, and now I know. Your placement of the bridge with the timbers repeating and receding contrasts with the smooth water and shows the order imposed upon nature by man whose influence is beginning to fade under the constant press of nature. Black and white allows us to see only the shapes, and that is important since the image is so busy. I don't think it's too busy, but only just. Had you used color it would have been too much. Great job.
All of your photos are spectacular. This one is my current favorite. I am using it as my MySpace background, I hope you don't mind. I have gotten many compliments on it. Thank you for sharing it...
