Good point. This choice of subjects is a good one. Bridges imply connections, and this one does so very well. The tree on the right and the roof on the left balance each other out well, and the colors look great. I can only explain this image's score by the competition against which it gets judged. Sometimes we forget that we're here to judge the quality of an image, not to fill out a bell-curve. BTW as the Eagles said so well, "Call a place paradise and you can kiss it goodbye."

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, road construction without end. AMEN.
Judging by the background I would have to say the picture was taken around the 1000 Islands and the St. Lawrence Seaway area which borders with Canada, however I could be wrong. Great picture btw! :)
