I took this photo while gathering & working cattle for the Bar S Ranch in Arizona. The cowboy is watching the gate to keep cows that have already been separated from returning to the main herd. It requires both speed and agility of horse & rider as a team. I hope you enjoy this glimpse of the old west that does really still exist today.

Really does look like the "Old West" so many are familiar with. Great capture and the B&W is perfect for this. Can't wait for Kidder to see this either :)

This is a beautiful western action shot. The horse and rider are well anchored by the post on the left, and the gate to the right. The cloud of dust and the movement of the subject are just excellent too. Now I think the oil paint effect was unnecessary and I think it detracts from the image which stands well on its own. If you have a link to the original I'd love to see it.

Like my friends have already said "Fantastic!!" This one is in my favs. for sure & on my desktop! This would make a great print for framing or turned into a painting hanging in a western art gallery!!! You have done an excellent job capturing this, & I really like the fact you put in a B&W finish!! A "10" in my books all the way!! Thanks for this one!

I like this image. It really is like a little glimpse into the past & the photo being in black and white certainly lends to this idea.

It would be interesting to see how this image looked in a sepia tone as well. Good job!

Brilliant, I haven't seen anything so atmospheric in ages. The PS treatment works very well too, it enhances the dusty feel you've caught. One of the best posts I've seen in a while, I could go on but I won't.....
