Lovely early morning shot and like the way the way the sun is reflecting on the water and able to view all the lovely boats sitting out there waiting to be used
And in particular, just past the halfway point of the page.. "Transition of Clipped Highlights". Note: "In general, the highlight transition can be made more gradual by decreasing the curve's slope at the far upper right corner."

Not quite applicable to your image here, just for future reference.
That aside..
Quite the quintessential pier/water/boat(s)/sunset photo.
I like how you incorporated the mooring and barrier/posts. Frames the scene well and adds that lil' something something more to your shot.
Good good stuff.
And..
But, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.
Glad to have you pipe in Les. I looked briefly and will study later. I have the digital photo Professional software that came with the Canon Rebel and I use it for editing. It has the same curved slope and I use it all the time on the RBG scale. I have photoshop essentials which I use for straightening and cloning or spot removal when needed. On this photo I used it to lighten the bottom of the photo where the rope is and tweaked it in between. The top was a problem because of the sun halo , I usually lighten the top to help blend the halo out. Your link may help me with this problem in the future so I will have a good read later. Thanks.
Wonderful capture again!
