While my main machine is ailing (though not totally out of the game), I thought I'd experiment.

Made this last night on my ageing iPad and am uploading it from there. Once wouldn't have dreamed of it... nothing but the best for Caedes, which usually means what I upload has to be a PNG of the right proportions for a wallpaper.

I've uploaded JPGs in the past and realized they lose significant detail, but today will risk it again.

This one's a weird shape but works well as background for iPad Retina 4; I don't even have to adjust it because of the way it works (I didn't say it was a GOOD way of working, thank you Apple. And I still hate that frosted dock along the bottom).

Enough blathering.

CREDITS:

Original image: Traditional Jazz (which looks better redone brighter and sharper).

iPad apps used:

(1) Snapseed (used on the original image to bring out colours and detail, then on the processed image at the end. It becomes jaggier when you increase detail to the amount I did, but I"m hoping it won't look too bad onsite).

I depend on Snapseed because it gives file info such as size and format. It shocked me that you couldn't discover this from any default Apple app, though Mail will kindly tell you what size it will squish it down to.

(2) AutoPainter HD (made the image smaller and softer; brought out colour saturation).

(3) RollWorld (this is where it became square!)

(4) AutoPainter HD again (but the Van Gogh effect sucked too much colour out of it and it had to be reinfused by Snapseed).

I could upload bigger images from the iPad, especially if I avoid AutoPainter and anything else that automatically decreases file size. Even better is where an app saves as PNG and not JPG (this is usually app-specific and you don't get to choose). In general I'm wary, as the iPad's perspective is limited and its art can be quite crude.

We'll see...?

This is marvelous, Sandra! Vivid colors and great color and shape mix. I really like the little, ringed orbs.

In spots, this looks very much like a van Gogh. Well done!
