This magnifying glass belonged to my father. It is a strong and very fond remembrance of him. This travelled all over the world with him (he was in the Greek Merchant Marines for 17 years).I treasure this so much. Thought to take a photo when the sun was shining on this cushion. Thanks for your views and advice.

What a great still life photo and remembrance of your father who had such an adventurous life.

I have one that I got from my father for my stamp collection just before he died when I was ten. It looks just like this but not as well worn and I still have it. We share a common thread.

Judging your narrative, it's a 'treasure' for you Vicki. Although it's a pretty small magnifying glass, it's a fond remembrance to cherish very well.

To make a good capture, reflecting some of its story, isn't an easy job.
By partly allowing the sunshine shining on it, to me, you've achieved the optimal result. Well done again!

I have a similar remembrance of my father, Vicki.

My heart to your heart for the loss of your father. And how appropriate that the magnifying glass is capturing the light. May your father's light live on in you.

It's a very good study in textures and the positive/negative areas is so very strong, just like the memory of your father. I'm betting this has a permanent place on your monitor.
