Your image would be a good contender for the current contest Vicki - love the setting of the flowers and vase in front of the ancient building in Naxos - Very Nicely Done!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes simplicity is best, Vicki, allowing us to fill the spaces with imagining the people who live in the scene, how they do that living, and how the scene was built, among many others. Simplicity is often a breath of fresh air and allows our brains to reset and become comfortable again. I like it.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Vicki, at spots where people are passing by, a skilled photographer sees the 'common' things and make them to a special photograph. This capture is a good example for this. To me a proof again that 'simple' photographs are often the finest as well. As said, your very fine capture has these 'ingredients'. Well seen and taken!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

I love simple and beautiful things, they are always great for me. I love this Greek scene, I've seen it so many times and enjoyed it. If you decide on this work in the contest, good luck, Vicki.
I could sit on that bench, on a sunny day, and enjoy conversations with a passerby, or simply sip a tea or coffee, and being one with the bench and pot of flowers.
