..... The Land of Nod FROM breakfast on through all the day At home among my friends I stay, But every night I go abroad Afar into the land of Nod. All by myself I have to go, With none to tell me what to do— All alone beside the streams And up the mountain-sides of dreams. The strangest things are there for me, Both things to eat and things to see, And many frightening sights abroad Till morning in the land of Nod. Try as I like to find the way, I never can get back by day, Nor can remember plain and clear The curious music that I hear. Stevenson, Robert Louis (1850–1894). A Child’s Garden of Verses and Underwoods. 1913

This is great! And thanks for the walk down memory lane with the Stevenson verse. That used to be my favorite book when I was a kid. No wonder I turned out to be an English teacher, given my love for Stevenson as a child.

You've captured the "dream" effect so well in this rendering. It's amazing how detailed and "real" this is but at the same time it gives the "nod" to the unconscious world that seems so vivid in unconsciousness, yet veiled in wakefulness as Mr. Stevenson put it so well in the child's poem you gave us. I can't get over all the excellent detail and it's a keeper for me. You've outdone yourself. :)PJ

Love the Poem (ironically my uncles name is Robert Louis Stevenson also but he's no poet!) ANYWAY! Love the render might I ask what program you used? I like the added touch of the tree and vegetation! Wonderful job keep it up I want to see more!

Beautiful concept and execution. It looks like a wonderful place to visit.

Have you tried procedural terrains yet? You'll get much more convincing landscapes.

It's and excellent render, except for those weird, triangular shadows. I really like it.

This is as good as it gets. Every image from you is special, but this could well be your masterpiece.
