Even ma and pa go on a trip sometimes. Taken in Chicago while we were on vacation.

Ma and Pa Kettle? Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride? Not hardly; these two are the characters in Grant Wood's famous "American Gothic" painting. Most people think they are husband and wife but, in reality, Wood recruited his sister Nan and his dentist, Dr. Byron McKeeby, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was Wood's intention to portray them not as husband and wife but as father and daughter.

This is awesome William! I love your perspective here. I have to say that 'Ma and Pa' seem to be a little out of their element in the Windy City! I'll bet they really stick out like a 'sore thumb' in that garb, but at least Pa is armed with a pitchfork in case they wander into a rough neighborhood! A unique and cool shot and find my friend!!
