A long exposure taken a few months back of the Florence Oregon coastline. I was struck by how much the beach resembled an epidermis. It even appears as though veins are present. They say that the earth is one giant, living organism.

I like the layer construction of the image. It looks surreal and dreamy. Definitely a nice place to visit and to play with camera.

Interesting "take" (pun intended) on this image. It is an amazing thing to do, leave the exposure for so long. You must have a science background.

Sharp intake of breath...... ohhhhh-so-lovely, Gregory and the slow exposure has definitely added a painterly feel to this image. Stunning colours, eye-catching composition. But then I expect nothing less of you and your talents! I understand what you mean about the scene having overtures of epidermis but that imagery doesn't naturally spring to my mind because of the lack hair. :-)

Just downloaded this gorgeous image. I agree with others that it has a painting-like quality to it. "Worn Shore" engenders the start of a whole new outlook toward life. Your calculating method of producing this image, Gregory, should be applauded. Great shot.......Neil

Really, really great shot. I like that you played around with the exposures, and also the framing, etc. of the image. An extra plus-- it goes great as a wallpaper with Windows XP, where the taskbar is the same shade of lovely blue as your ocean.

Thanks for posting, amazing work.

It's nearly 2014, more than 7 years since you posted this image, and even though the quality of digital cameras and their resolution have increased significantly in that time, this photo of yours passes the test of time. It's every bit as enthralling as any shot taken today, with megapixels probably 3 or 4 times as what you were using. A lot of the quality lies in the light, time of day, angle, composition, and simply finding this photo. If the c-index were still around this would easily be in the mid to upper 90's. -Nik
