Lovely picture. Noticed that it's a little grainy. If you're interested, there's a nice program you can download for a free trial called NeatImage, which does a marvelous job at removing the graininess. You can get it at www.neatimage.com Have a great day!
"Once you have heard the lark, known the swish of feet through hill-top grass and smelt the earth made ready for the seed, you are never again going to be fully happy about the cities and towns that man carries like a crippling weight upon his back."

Sorry I missed this when you posted. Fabulous shot...the mountain just seems to float above the landscape. I also think you got a great balance of foreground, mountain and sky. It is a tad noisy when you enlarge it, but still, the overall effect is WOW.
Sometimes when I come down through the pass from the Oregon border, the coloring reminds me of an Orcha Whale. The mountain can be astoundingly beautiful at any time of the year. A terrific shot. 10.
Ron, I have never seen Mt Shasta captured so vividly. This is beautiful. I didn't get up thru Northern CA much when trucking but every now and then I would and I always looked forward to seeing this site. Assuming you are from that area, are you familiar with a little trucker's cafe at a rest area on the west side of I-5 near Mt Shasta called Porky's? Good food. Nice composition.

Great shot... However, it's not a sacred place to me...
Lost not 1 but, 2 tires in the rear on the motorhome, just
as we were getting close for a good shot... Dang!!!! Seriously
though, a great shot, I envy you... Ted
Just ran across this. Makes one feel humble in the big picture. It's grainy but I think that adds to its effect. If you lived where you can see it, why would you ever leave.
I'VE BEEN THERE!! I used to live where you could see it almost this clearly. Hat-Creek California, near Burney California! I miss seeing the mountains so close. It's really wonderful!
wow! nice! i was just somewhere near Likely, CA about a week ago, and if i hiked the mountains, i could see Mt. Shasta way off across from my mountain.
Nice to get to see what it looks like up close, though.
Thanks for sharing!
