Rain down mercy For the lost and lonely child For the liars and the losers The reckless and the wild There's no more use in pretending I know I never fooled you The deepest darkness I've ever known Comes from living like I do But I swear I'm gonna knock on that gate Even if it's all in vain I'll stand outside with my mouth wide open And drink the pouring rain I know there's some good left in this world I've seen it shine in your eyes Rain down salvation And keep my faith alive The harder we fall, the closer we come To finding our hearts and the damage we've done Darling, I've held the devil's dirty hand But holding you now I know is heaven's last attempt Won't you walk beside me You know I can't make it alone Here the fields are dark and the wind is hard Hard as stone Roll out the sky Oh, and let me come home, come home I wanna come home [ Solo ] The harder we fall, the closer we come To finding the light and the warmth of the sun All that I've ever had I've let slip through my hands But holding you now, I know is heaven ---Heaven's Last Attempt~~~~ Jude Cole

And sometimes, all you have left are the memories of the slip. Liz, powerful dark lyrics to go with your picture and the rays of hope it holds.

Wow, look at that... the crepuscular rays are reflecting their character in the water. This image of yours certainly shows the immensity of the gulf, Liz. It's hard to capture that with a photo of just the water because there's nothing there for reference. And if one leaves too much land in the shot it's, well, just a shot of a beach. There's a very fine line between too much and too little and I think you've found it here. A little bit of beach anchoring all that water and those terrific clouds, plus a perfect interpretation of the rule of thirds. Another excellent submission, a copy of which will join the 270 others in my designed screen saver, all having to do with water. Saved and faved, Liz, thanks for sharing it.

I can see a little of Boy Dylan's Knocking in this one too with the rays E~. Nice to see water that isn't frozen. A very inviting shot both here and hereafter.

Light ....the power that make everything visible,
Light.....the truth we need to follow,
Light.....the pathway through which we have to move,
Light.....the ultimate that can never be suppressed,
Light.....the rays which the cloud screen can not obstruct here
in your nice nice picture.Let us follow the path which
is enlightened by a light leaving behind the dark.

Great shot, the strip of shoreline on the left helps to break up the simplistic "sky/water" comp that these kind of shots often get stuck with and also leads the eye into the distance and literally pointing at the focal line in the image just in case we missed the burst of light and it's reflections in the water. Lovely muted tones and plenty of textures in both water and sky.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
