Glencoe is one of Scotland's most famous glens, mainly due to the infamous massacre of the Clan Donald in 1692. Stunning scenery and very atmospheric. This was taken just after Cottage in Glencoe. Thanks for looking :o)
great shot overall Al - the colour, composition and focal clarity really stand out. the little details like the isolated trees in the lower left hand side really add to it. Shame about the road creeping in there but hey what can you do! :-) well done.
Very nice overall like Phil said. The general composition is the strongest point of the shot I think. Only one small thing except that road. I'm sensing some extra sharpening in some details of the shot, notably the edges of the mountain towards the sky. This could be a camera setting thing but it could be you did some filtering in the postprocessing. I'm not saying this is a big issue. ;) It's just my belief it would have been an even better shot without that little artefact. Anyhow. That lighting is spectacular! Thanks for posting. :)
I used to pass through Glencoe quite often many years ago....I'd forgotten just what an awesome place it is so it is nice to be reminded by your powerful and nicely composed image....thankyou.
Wow, thanks guys for the comments.
No extra sharpening in the image, it's a by-product of my camera, not sure if it's not set properly or just bleeds at some edges. No trickery of that nature, if anything it is minutely blurred. And I took a Volvo out :o)
I don't mind the road at all as i enjoyed travelling it so much that day :o) But I understand your point fully philc.
Thanks again for viewing and giving me your input.
It would be a sin just to avoid it in a new images gallery. Spectacular panoramic view, which for me is just breath-taking. I love the composition, with the sky clearance in the middle and the road turning in the direction of the mountains, which only makes them more impressive and majestic. Thank you!
This picture is an unbelievable picture. The mountains almost framing this shot and the billowing clouds make this picture beautiful. Wonderful image!!! A 10/10 from me :)
An epic picture! My god it just makes me want to hike along those fields to see what's beyond that range..
Good composition and balanced colors. It is a tenner!
Thanks Paul, dreamer, iggidy, gabalawy, dexterL, mudpuppy and hukka :o)
It is a truly stunning lanscape and I will be hiking along that range in the summer so I'll post what I find...
What a cloud. It defines the entire photo. I can feel it over my head. I can can feel tiny drops of rain as it passes over. What a unique perspective. It's striking and awesome. This just blows me away. Thankyou so much for sharing. If Scotland is this beautiful, I must go visit.
