Great shot Brett.. that is an unusual plant.... love the colours though... (looks like it should be in the movie "Little Shop Of Horrors".... ).. lol.... take care J

It's a bromeliad, though I don't know the specific type - there are a number of different kinds. They do have those little spines on the leaves, but I think they are a beautiful and exotic plant and your photo is superb. The dark background really makes the leaves stand out. Nice work!

i had a bromelaid similar to this one and the smell was really nice when the little purple flowers opened. i thought that someone else was in the house! lol great photo!
