A view of one of very few objects disturbing the saltmarsh vista of North Norfolk, UK, an area of long, low horizons and huge skies. These saltmarshes run for endless miles along the coast here, broken only by the odd part where a river meanders out to sea. The sense of isolation pervades everything once you get away from the coastal villages. I hope this image conveys the essence of this wonderful, lonely place. Enjoy.

Noah - build me an ark! I assume a storm brought this boat inland. Yes, you captured the isolation very well.

I love your vantage point, and it does convey a lonely place, that everyone has forgot about. Great capture.

Indeed, Noah's Arch, but on the plains instead of the mountains - reasons given by luckyshot sound plausible for me.

Of a portfolio of terrific shots, I think this is one of your best! The clouds are just right...seeming to converge to the center, which helps the eye go back after looking over the ruin thoroughly. Focus and color are spot-on, as always. The angle is especially good for people like me who want to know why the boat was abandoned... and I can see that she acquired a nasty hole in her side somehow. The plain marsh beyond is a nice counterpoint to the detail of the boat...and the water in the distance convinces the viewer that this is indeed a soggy area.

Barry, I think this photo is wonderful. The stories the imagination conjures just looking at it are wonderful. The vista in the background is grand also. This one got a "10" from me in the vb.

Is this at Blakeney? I think I have the very same boat in my gallery!! It does convey the sense of the place, it's wild and desolate. I spent a very memorable bright winter day there a couple of years ago. Nice work.
