Or Starling as it's more commonly known.We up here in the North of England call them Stinkers.I suppose that derives from them being a Flocking bird.Sometimes in flocks of up to a million.That's some sight believe me.The corresponding mess no doubt gave them this unfortunate nickname..It's not until you get close to these birds you see their true beauty..This one's ate a lot of my berries and now it's starting on the currants.As a show of appreciation,It's decided to stick it's tongue out at me...The resident Blackbird is going Bananas,Cos this is one bird that won't be bullied..

Sticking his tounge out is not very neighborly. Especially after you feed him. He is a good looking bird but I would imagine being in such a flock they could block the sun. Great close up. It really allows us to see his detail.

I seen these 'flocking' together down in Wales earlier in the year....Wadda sight...but, unfortunately, I didn't have my camera....Tell this one to go get his mates...and will make sure i have my snapper with this time!....

tI almost looks like it is covered with little Nike swooshes. You don't suppose it is really a Tiger Starling. Wonderful capture Count B. A little vulgaris is good for cleaning the stress.
