Local legend tells that a village, overwhelmed by a catastrophic flood, lies deep beneath the waters of Talkin Tarn. At the dead of night, on midsummer's day you might hear the ghostly ring of the school bell calling children to their lessons! The name Talkin is derived from the Celtic "Talcan" meaning brow of a hill. The word "Tarn" is Norse in origin, "Tjorn" meaning tear drop or small lake.

I might be able to get two or three of my row boats in there. I hope the doors lock though. I wouldn't want them valuable vessels stolen. Excellent work on this purdy picture.

Richie, in Zeeland, The Netherlands, we have a lot of villages drowned by the sea. Please check-out this list for their names. Of one of those villages (named Orisant) a, to your story comparable story is told. I have only this link available to the story in the Dutch language.
Thanks for this very interesting shot.
Regards, Cornelius.

Interesting legend and photo Count B. A good shot with colors to match. How deep is the lake? Did they open a Wal Mart at the other end to cause it to close?
