Wonderful place and capture, Richie. Very nice composition and lighting. Low angle sunlights on the tree is very nice.
For a good critique of your camera the exif info should be included. Assuming a standart exposure of this scene as, ISO100, f8, 1/250, as Bob pointed the noise is not good. The result is less than my expectation from this camera.
Sharpness is a very different 'concept' and for the high level compact cameras like yours, 'fake' sharpness value is kept high. For a sunny and bright lighting conditions like in your shot details should be very fine.
But anyways, have good shots by your brandnew camera.

I'm afraid i can't see a lot of noise in this picture also..I think it has performed quite well for a small sensor camera at ISO 400,Certainly not up to the standard of my 7D SLR,Considering the price difference no surprise..However the prime reason for purchasing this camera was for the telephoto end saving me a small fortune on a long lens,Also it will be handy as a holiday camera,As my wife complains about having to carry a heavy rucksack ;)
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
I really like the mix of light and dark shades. The strong blue sky and the sunlit branches all go well together. No blown highlights or shadows. Nice shot!!
I like snow frames like this bec. I didn't see snow in my life like this. :) And of course, beautiful composition with trees and this clear snow. Nice!!
A very crisp shot. Nice colors and beautifully lit, white snow. It looks to me like the camera performs admirably. It appears to me that the bit of noise in the sky might have come from post-work color saturation and/or sharpening. It's not very noticeable, but Bob has sharp eyes for an old sod. :)
The blur in the branches will come from the breeze blowing them!
Overall...Bloody fabulous!...
