This is a nice picture that I'll be sure to show my husband. He has a place on his route that will be having the tallest crane in the world there pretty soon. Right now they are digging a hole so deep that there is a crane lifting dirt to another crane that is lifting dirt to another crane.

It is a dandy Count B. The browser on this borrowed laptop wouldn't play the song by Billybadbrakes. My money is on David. :)

What a nice and sentimental song! But that has been the fate of many shipyards and ports Richie. Competition from the Far East in shipbuilding and the change brought about by containers in shipping have meant the end for them. Nice shot of David and Goliath.

Good stuff Richie. Love the song as well.
The Mauritania had a great career - luckier than her sister the Lusitania. I can remember my parents and grandmother talking about them both.

Richie dear,
There are two ways to get straight to my heart. One is to post a pic of a doggie [or another animal for that matter ...], the other is industrial, specifically in connection with ships, shipbuilding etc. or anything that might be related !
Many many thanks,

A great shot of these two cranes, Richie. Love the colors in this one. Great video, as well. Lots of fascinating history in that six minutes and some wonderful photos from the early 1900s. Well done!
