A hard to capture shot, and you pulled it off my friend, for me the color /contrasts are a bit harsh, but that is just one person's opinion. I have not got a shot like this in a long time, I'm envious. Tigs♥ =^..^=
Deer are so photogenic but still don't care to pose for portraits. I have deer all over my property and have to be very careful of my potted plants in the summertime droughts when the deer will walk up the five steps onto my deck and ravage the succulents. One of these days I'll get off my sorry butt and take some photos of them. It's interesting what we like on Caedes. You post shots of 15th century architecture that you see every day. When visitors pull up our long driveway and encounter deer, they just can't get over it. I see a deer and think, "Heck, I'll get around to shooting one of these buggers one of these days." Like they told me in my writers' classes, "Write what you know". I guess the lesson is shoot what you see and what you have at your disposal.
What a beautiful black deer. I have never seen one before. You are so lucky to have one so near. I like the dof and how you are showing that you are hidden partially from his view.
Have however admiration for your quick reaction! Would that I was still that flexible.
