As I read your intro, I happened to skip the word "soldier" and finished in awe thinking about ancients Romans who loved their animals so much ...:) The age 25 did not surprise me either in connection with the horse. He may have died in battle. It is often the case that if the horse has one hoof up, the rider was wounded in battle, two hooves up, he died in battle, and if no hooves were up, then the rider survived all the battles in which in fought.
This horse has two hooves up, I also noticed that the rider kicked a little a.. before meeting his end, too! lol.
That's right Richie, because it's about 2000 years ago that Flavinus died.
