He's a lot more colorful than the Belted Kingfisher. A very nice image with him peeking over the branch to keep an eye on you. Bravo.

Excellent close-up, Richie. I suppose that you've used the maximum FL (600mm), if so, how you've managed to prevent blur without using a tripod or monopod? On the other hand, with such a device it's almost impossible to capture such a tiny but dynamic subject.

That's the first thing I said when I opened it. Funny how I start looking through the New Images list of images, picking ones to look at from the small thumbnails, and the last three have turned out to be yours. Interesting, that.
