Richie, I like to agree with the above commenters about the wonderful colors of this Goldfinch. However, I'm even more amazed how you could find and have photographed it. Perfectly done (again)!

Wow!!! Great closeup Richie. We have a bird feeder in our back yard here in Walnut Creek and our finches are small and smaller with no red on the head:):) Well presented:)
Wow, Richie, your European birds of the same name certainly have different colors. The North American goldfinch has a bright yellow body with black wings and a black crown on its head. With all the unique colors on your variety, it almost looks like it's wearing a tiny patchwork quilt.
