So tack-sharp, any identifying feature is clearly visible, making field identification simple. The longhorn beetles, also known as long-horned or longicorns, are mostly characterized by extremely long antennae, which are often as long as or longer than the body (for anyone else wanting to know). Reminds me a bit of our boxelder bug, here in the U.S., except the antennae are about 3/4 this length and the main colors are black, dark gray, and red. On cold fall mornings you can see them in large clusters on the south sides of buildings, stiff and unmoving from the nights chill, and, scraping a bunch into your cupped hands, you can watch the warmth of your hands slowly rejuvenate them.
