This representation of a Parson's chameleon measures approximately 20-feet long, one of the five giant lizard figures in a parade float presented by Rain Bird Corp. at the 2007 Tournament of Roses Parade, New Year's Day in Pasadena CA. Per tournament rules, everything in the float must be covered with natural materials -- flowers, fruits, nuts, tree barks, etc. This lizard's skin is covered with nuts (pecan, brazilian and almond) and color accents provided by dried apricot, sliced loofa, lime, kumquats and others.

A totally amazing creation, one that I'm sure must have taken many long hours to make. It is beautiful and thank you for posting it for us to see. It really is neat!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

You know when I saw this in the voting booth it took me a moment to figure out it wasn't real...I actually had a thought that this might be from the Roses Parade. An exceptually good angle and very sharp...good work!

What a cool shot, how fun it must have been to be able to go to it in person. Thanks for sharing.
