This is the famous arch in St. Louis Mo. The picture was taken from across the river in east St. Louis. The arch itself was built to represent the gate way from the East to the West. And as all of you history buffs out there know, St. Louis was the center of the western fur trade. It was here where all of the traders had their shop set up and it was from St. Louis that all of the mountain men headed to the rockies to find wealth in beaver fur. I hope you all enjoy.

It looks like it was a cold day when you took this shot BTK. If you were in the arch, you could see Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. Good luck in the contest and that should be the biggest curve. lol

This is great. It looks like this was in the evening just after the sun went down...no matter what time of day I love the colouring of the sky and the look of the skyline...the slight reflection in the water. Well done!

As Tick says, it is cool to look down at Busch Stadium. If you are there, don't miss it! What a view, and what an experience!

I was up in the arch a couple of years ago. What a view from up there. Very nice shot, and a good entry for the contest.

Wonderful capture of the arch & skyline. I like the light & shadow play. Best of luck in the contest.

Best wide-angle lens? Two steps backward. Look for the 'ah-ha'. Ernest Haas
