Down the alley alley oh Arrgh posted that before reading it lol, well dont that serve me right for being cocky! Well red faced now.... A lot of these cargo ships sail past my neck of the woods on the way to where ever they are going, and I always think they are an impressive site. So large and yet they float with all that metal and heaviness aboard. Is this a Russian ship I wonder? Great shot U Steve. yfj
It's certainly big. I'm impressed by what you do with that Fujifilm of yours Steve, it delivers some pretty good stuff for a compact and of course that's down to the way you use it.
As for the image, I'm actually thinking I'd like to see more of the industrial landscape to the left and right of the ship but that would be a lot to ask of any camera from this viewpoint. The severe crop means you're not likely to get a great judgment in the VB but I like this, you did well to spot the light warming up the side of the ship and the interesting angle of the clouds in the sky.
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
I remember that song :) Except it was the last day of September in my version!
I really like the brooding sky in this shot - and now I am off to your gallery for a dose of nostalgia.
