Even though The Perch Rock Lighthouse no longer shines it is still one of the main landmarks for ships coming to Liverpool and The River Mersey. I'm sure it's a welcome sight when the wind is blowing and you've had a difficult journey.

I tell you a true story Steve. During my active career, I prefered to keep station on open seas in such extreme weather conditions rather than approaching the coast. But as time is money, mostly there was no other choice than to take the risk (and the responsibility, lol).

I should imagine the captain of that ship is looking forward to docking. I love this shot, although I have to say I wont be running away to sea anytime soon now lol.

I wonder why that lighthouse hasn't been hit yet as it's sweep light hasn't been lit for decades !! But there again perhaps it has a beacon light instead.

Theres alot happening in this image. I would suggest croping it a bit from the bottow and right. It seems like there is too many waves in the shot. But other than that I really do like the lighthouse.

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for
your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?
What would be cool is to get this to a person who is really good at manipulations, and get him to darken it a bit, and add a spear of light shining out into the distant waves. Not that the picture needs any help. It's a very good shot.
