This beak is loaded AND I know how to use it! A nearly mature cygnet standing his or her ground on the Promenade at New Brighton, Merseyside.

OH MY!! Thats one angry swan there.. I have to say the old saying is coming to mind.... "Watch out for swans they can break a mans arm" I hope you took heed and ran away very fast from this one. A really good shot and great title. And you should get a bravery award for even getting that close U. Steve.

( Now I have Danny Kaye as Hans Christian Anderson singing the Ugly Duckling.. pptt get out of town in my head lolol. )

If you could understand Swanese, you would probably be hearing....&^%* #$@*# >!&*^ !%$#*$@. Not printable in any language. LOL. Nice picture and very humorous, Steve.

Anyone who has had to deal with an angry goose can appreciate (with an appropriate amount of fear) this photo. It must have moved its head just as the shutter cycled because the beak is slightly out of focus. Normally that might be a drawback but, in this case, it makes it appear that the bird actually has teeth(!) making it even more fearsome.

Or get your arm broken!!! You worry me sometimes with the risks you take photographing. Being dragged out to sea battered after an encounter with this guy wouldn't be any fun at all ;-)
