This is one of the famous Mersey Ferries and the giant liner The Grand Princess which was docked at Liverpool's new Liner Terminal. The title comes from a scene in the wonderful Irish sit-com Father Ted where Ted tries to explain to Dougal the difference between something being small or being far away.

Think it's pretty hard to become seasick on such a Liner Steve.
Great post to me. Thanks for posting it!

That's the kind of boats I'm used to. I see them up at Lake Erie all the time. But I sure would love to go aboard that cruise ship. Another Grand picture.

I loved that episode lol. Thats one amazing ship, I should imagine the ferry is leaning to one side with all its passengers leaning out for a better view. Wonderful shot.

Good idea, that really hammers the size home. Lots of front to back sharpness here Steve, you must have set a narrow aperture - you seem to be picking up those camera controls in double quick time.

Another great shot Steve :) Once again I am impressed by such clarity.
I was trying to make out the ferry's name :)
Did you know according to Wikipedia "A ferry across the Mersey is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086."

Thanks Steve for the info I had no idea Liverpool was a new port of call for cruise ships. I have sailed on Grand Princess sister ship the Golden Princess... You can always tell a Princess because of the tennis shoe look at the aft of the ship.

Great commentary to go along with the image. I must take a cruise one of these days.
