The last in the series showing the actual Cathedral in Liverpool. This is the The Southern Door and was for many years the main entrance and still is for Grand Occasions.( Don't forget,The West end of the Cathedral and that wonderful stained-glass window were, in 1978, the last parts of the building to be completed.)

The main reason I'm showing these steps is a romantic one. Mrs Braces' father proposed to her mother on these steps sometime after the end of World War II. Now, Mrs B's parents didn't have this played at the end of their wedding but Mrs Braces and I did at the end of ours back in April 1976, It's the famous Toccata from Widor's 5th Organ Symphony. Enjoy!

From the sound of the tempo, I think you were trying to get the church cleared so you could get on with the honeymoon. Just kidding. Good photo Steve and you are a true music Connoisseur.

The lines, especially the wide arch and the gate, really grab my attention... What a splendiferous place to propose in!
