Otters are so cute. Here are three of Chester Zoo's romp of Otters. Yes, romp is the collective noun for Otters ( along with raft and bevy).

hheeh killer otters huh?? they are one of my favourites , but boy do they stink! :-) cute shot of them! they are so playful, and a romp of otters is a great collective noun, it describes them quite well.

I will explain. Them otters kill what they eat afterwards and otherwise they are cute furry [although often wet] critters.
We, Poles, like them and it dates back to XVI or XVII centuries.
All my knowledge of otters apart from the encyclopedic info. LOL
They make sweet and devoted pets - this is the historical part of it [a Polish XVI/XVII century writer had one as a pet and wrote a book upon it !!] the name of the writer was Jan Chryzostom Pasek !

I love watching otters play Steve. We are starting to get a few in our rivers. It is a pleasure to sit and watch them. Nice post.
