This is a Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros at Chester Zoo.This is a particularly endangered animal in the wild.

Sorry about the problems seeing this image the first time round. There were 11 images that somehow just wouldn't appear in their galleries.I hope this image was worth the wait.

The poor guy got his "hand me downs" from his older brother who was obviously rather well nourished.:) Great shot, Steve with sharp and clear details.

Wonderful and funny image! His skin does indeed look way to big for him.
It was well worth the wait.

Oh boy you've been busy uploading lately Steve so the weathers improved huh ! I've been very busy with work lately so please excuse my absence.

It still upsets me how in a small section of our lifetimes we've seen large, & once common animals like these come close to extinction !

Another great post scouser boy. :o)

Good post Steve and it was well worth the wait. They are such a unique looking animal. I agree with Phlossie about the shame of it all. Photo is perfect. Good post.

Well, I'm glad your images finally came through... I'm always amazed at the shapes and sizes of all the living beings on Earth, and rhinos like this guy are certainly amazing. But I share the feeling of sadness at their dwindling numbers.

Rhinos, hippos and even elephants remind me of the huge creatures that once roamed the Earth. Good shot, glad it finally got through, and thanks for persevering !

That's a nice clear shot Steve with good light and lots of texture on his skin. He really does look like he's been around for millions of years doesn't he?
