A young Heffalump at Chester Zoo.

As you all know the term "Heffalump" comes from Winnie the Pooh, can I urge you all, if you get the opportunity, to ignore the travesty that is Disney's Winnie The Pooh and read the actual book by A.A. Milne. It and its sequel "The House at Pooh Corner" are truly wonderful and the chapter where Pooh and Piglet build a Heffalump trap is one of the funniest chapters in literature. The last chapter of the House at Pooh corner is also one of the saddest chapters in literature and always makes me cry.

I also cry each time while reading the end.
Also I get very disturbed emotionally when Piglet is forced to give his OWN home to Mr Owl.
Disney version is ..... [fill as feel correct LOL]

I always remember as a child having the opportunity to touch a baby elephant. So when my hand touched its hairy head, I remember being quite shocked at how course its hair was and shuddered! I expected it to be soft. This brought back that memory - thank you!
