I had to go to the village where I grew up today. I hadn't been back there for ten or twelve years. It is called Prestbury and is in Cheshire in North-West England.

Some parts of the village are very old. This is The Priest's House which is right in the centre of the village opposite the church. It was built in 1448 and is now a branch of a bank.

I must confess, this is a great shot. They now have tellers when you go in. What a topsy turvy world this has become. Excellent work and the colors are outstanding Caruso. Who said "You can't go home again?" Thomas Wolfe.

I think a priest's house is called a rectory...That's crazy, though...Ecclesiastic to Economic...I agree with Tick on this one...It is a nice piece of architecture...and a wonderful post...Thanks for sharing...

Once I visited Chester and saw rather similar houses Steve. Was surprised then to find them in the UK. Very good post my friend.

Very good shot of a nice and colourful bank building with a history, Steve. Hope they have strengthened the house before they built the safe deposit vault :0)

What a nice place to grow up. Great to see this place still there, even it has become part of the evil empire of banking ;-) I think there was a really good composition here Steve, a low shot angled up at the building, taking in those bright wet leaves on the floor and one of those lovely containers with a ball of box in the foreground. I like how the wet has intensified the colours, even the black is glistening!
