It's just like people. An adult swan puts a juvenile in its place. Swans on The Model Boating Lake, New Brighton at the mouth of The River Mersey.

OH, I really know that adult swans can be really aggressive and mean towards the youngsters, I've seen it happen.

This is a beautiful capture and love the way they fluff up there wing feathers.

The photo of the swan and young swan is really lovely,Steve,the lighting is pleasant too,i saw a swan at a local pond this week,i regularly see the swan as well as geese and a duck,i give them bread and corn.

Looks like the white one is showing who is boss of the pond. It's a great capture of the two of them.

Swans can indeed be very aggresice towards their youngsters.

The one thing that I adore about your swan uploads is the very beautiful effect you get on the white feathers, making them look almost translucent. The effect makes the swan look as though its almost glowing. Beautiful U Steve xx
