The two Liverpool cathedrals seen from an unusual angle from across The River Mersey.

The large sandstone cathedral in the foreground is the Anglican Cathedral. This is the largest cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest in the world. It was started in 1904 and finished in 1978.

The modern building poking out from behind the Anglican cathedral is The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ The King or, more simply, The Catholic Cathedral. It was started in 1962 and completed in 1967.

The red-brick building on the bottom left is the site of Cain's Brewery and so is also important!

The title is taken from a famous folk song called "In my Liverpool Home."

Sounds like you have good people and even one of them to spare Caruso. I would go to Cain's Brewery were I Able. I like the scene very much. Makes me want to visit.

Beautiful pano, Steve. The one on the right looks super huge. I'd like to hear some organ music in there.

Ahh - nostalgia - both the image and the song !
I love both Cathedrals.
I spent many hours on site while the RCMCCTK was being built but left before it was complete - next time I visited it donations were being sought for the Restoration fund!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
