This is a panorama showing the River Mersey at low tide. In the distance you can see Liverpool in all its glory.
This image was taken from The Wirral side of the river. The mud-flats in the foreground are famous as the final resting place of Brunel's SS Great Eastern which at the time of its launch in1858 was the largest ship ever built.
